Chelsea are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz according to a number of sources, including a recent report from HLN.
However, as Football London report, Leverkusen have been asking for around £90 million for the 21-year old German international, which may be a bit out of Chelsea’s price range.
But there has been some further developments on this story, and as per the same report from FL, Havertz price could now be nearer what Chelsea are willing to pay – £70 million.
This is due to his club failing to qualify for Champions League football in the Bundesliga this season.
Of course there is a long way to go yet if any deal is to be done here, but it seems very clear now that Chelsea have a strong intention to bring Havertz to Stamford Bridge this summer alongside high profile arrivals Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
