Arsenal manager plans crunch talks with striker as Chelsea lurk

If there’s one thing Arsenal fans know all about, it’s players leaving them to go and win more trophies.

Cesc Fabregas, Robin Van Persie and Ashley Cole set the trend, and now it seems like Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is going to follow suit.

The striker has been one of Arsenal’s star players since arriving from Dortmund, but now with his contract running down it looks like he’s giving up on his chances of silverware at the Emirates and is considering leaving on a free.

That’s where Chelsea come in – always hungry to add experience and quality, and looking for depth up front, it’s no surprise that the media are making the connection.

This evening the Telegraph are reporting that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is going to try and persuade the Gabon international to stay, now as his deal enters its final year.

Chelsea will be watching and waiting, hoping negotiations break down so they can potentially swoop on a cut price deal. Stealing another top player from Arsenal would be great fun, and watching another one lift a trophy in Blue would be even sweeter.
