Antonio Rudiger may have helped swing major summer move in Chelsea’s favour

A lot of Chelsea fans lost patience with some of Antonio Rudiger’s defending this season, but he might just have got back into their good books with some of his work off the field.

A few days ago Christian Falk of Bild tweeted that the defender was trying to persuade the 24 year old striker, who played with him at Stuttgart many years ago, that Chelsea is the English team he should choose to join this summer, ahead of Liverpool.

You can see his Tweet here:

It all sounded like it wasn’t going to make much of a difference. Liverpool were in pole position and could offer a great project to the German striker.

But now, Falk is back with more news – and it sounds like Rudiger may have made a difference:

If Werner does end up at Chelsea, “Agent Rudiger” will have earned some serious credit with Blues fans.

Of course, perhaps it’s the €10m+ a year Chelsea are offering him as a contract? But that’s not nearly as romantic.
