Ajax boss opens door for two more stars to potentially join Chelsea

Chelsea have already signed Hakim Ziyech from Ajax this summer, and they could pursue two more of their star players.

According to TalkSport, Chelsea have been linked with signing both goalkeeper Andre Onana, and left back Nicolas Tagliafico.

These are two areas that Chelsea could look to strengthen this summer, with doubts over current number one Kepa Arrizabalaga, and both left backs Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri.

Of course, Ben Chilwell is Chelsea’s number one priority for the left back position, as reiterated again on Sunday by The Athletic.

But his price tag often comes up as a potential stumbling block, and Tagliafico would certainly be the cheaper option as a backup.

And Ajax boss Eric ten Hag has confirmed that both players could leave the club this summer, with Tagliafico being more likely.

But he knows that he faces the prospect of losing them both, as well as a number of other players.

As per the same report, Ten Hag said:

“Based on their performance and ambition, a number of our players also want to make the move abroad,

“Agreements have been made with Andre Onana, Donny van de Beek and Nicolas Tagliafico, but it remains to be seen whether the market is indeed breaking loose.

“For Onana and Van de Beek, another year of Ajax could certainly be an option, for Tagliafico it is slightly different because of his age.”
