It was always clear from hearing him speak – and perhaps from seeing him play – that Fikayo Tomori was very well raised.
Polite, quiet, thoughtful, friendly. The centre back immediately strikes you as likeable – although with a steely streak that you can also see in his game.
It all becomes clear when you see this interview with his father, who himself speaks very well, and touchingly talks about how proud he is of his son and his rise to the first team this season under Frank Lampard’s watch.
