The reported £62 million agreed fee for striker proves it would be wise for Chelsea to end their interest

Back in January, Goal published a story entitled ‘why Chelsea are ready to spend big on Lyon’s deadly Moussa Dembele.’

The striker has been on Chelsea’s radar for sometime, but recently the rumours have started to die off. Perhaps Frank Lampard has other targets? Or maybe Lyon are just asking too much for one of their star players?

Whatever the case is, Chelsea would be wise to end their interest in the 23-year old former Fulham striker and focus their attentions elsewhere.

This is not to say that Dembele isn’t a good player, because he clearly is. But if the reported fee below is anything to go by, then Chelsea will only be taking a huge risk spending that amount of money on a striker again, and could end up in another Alvaro Morata situation.

Dembele has a great eye for goal, and certainly looks like he has a lot of potential. But is he worth £62 million as it stands? Absolutely not in my opinion.
