The new squad numbers that Gilmour, Tomori, and James could get next season

As we approach the end of the current season, if it still manages to finish, some Chelsea players will begin thinking about potential new squad numbers for next season.

Players such as Billy Gilmour, Fikayo Tomori, and Reece James have become regular first team squad members and as a result, could be handed lower numbers next season, according to Football London.

James currently wears number 24, Tomori wears 29, and Gilmour wears 47.

But there could be a few lower numbers available for them to ‘upgrade’ to next season with the likes of Tiemoue Bakayoko, who wears 14, Kenedy, who wears 16, and Davide Zappacosta, who wears 21, could all be looking at the Stamford Bridge exit door.

But the most appealing number that will be available is Danny Drinkwater’s number 6, with the flop also likely to be leaving this summer.

Gilmour will be licking his lips at potentially wearing the 6, and it is the number that is most suited to his position on the pitch.
