Emerson and Jorginho have a lot in common.
Both were born in Brazil but play their national team football for Italy, having spent the majority of their careers there.
Both came to Chelsea from Serie A, and now look pretty close to a move back there.
And most notably, both can’t resist constantly chattering with sources, both in Brazil and Italy, about their future.
The flirting is endless, and hot on the heels of Jorginho’s quotes from the other day, come Emerson’s from yesterday, very much along the same lines.
“I have a strong connection with Italy. I did a good job at Rome. So, when the transfer window opens in the middle of the year, these rumours always happen,” the full back said in quotes picked up by Football.London.
Just like Jorginho and his agent, Emerson is careful to not actively pursue a move, but he does drop these little hints, and no matter how many times you hear him say he’s happy in London, it’s never very convincing, and his comments are never designed to actually shut down the rumours.
We think there’s a decent chance that both players leave the club this summer.
