Chelsea will finally let go of midfielder for bargain €15m fee

Mario Pasalic will finally make a permanent move away from Chelsea this summer.

The midfielder has been a rare flow burning loan success, gradually picking up experience in different leagues across Europe and then finally settling in Serie A with Atalanta, where he has been on board as they’ve become one of Europe’s most exciting smaller teams to watch.

This is his second year on loan there, and the team from Bergamo have the option to buy him for around €15m according to Tuttosport (cited by Sportsmole), which looks cheap given his current form.

Chelsea should never have included such a low purchase clause, but it’s still more than they might have expected to get for the Croatian when he was bouncing from team to team on loan a few years ago, so one has to look on the bright side really.

Atalanta would be a good destination for more player loans in the future, so it pays to keep good relations with them anyway.
