Chelsea touted as an option for Antoine Griezmann this summer

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard continues to search for a potential new striker this summer.

It appears that every day we hear of a potential new target as Lampard looks to bring in better competition for the clubs current goalscorer Tammy Abraham.

Dries Mertens is the name largely being talked about as the main option, but reliable reports recently suggest that he is now close to extending his current deal with Napoli, as per Sky Sports.

So where now for Lampard?

Well, The Sun have ran a report today listing off potential Barcelona players who are likely to be up for sale this summer due to a financial meltdown there caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the club’s huge wage bill.

They name Chelsea and PSG as the two clubs that could sign Barcelona striker Antoine Griezmann, having both popped up regularly on the rumour mill as being interested.

The France international is 29-years old now, so perhaps there could be a good deal to be done for a club here. But I can’t see that being Chelsea.
