Chelsea could shop in Barcelona with as many as 16 stars potentially up for sale

Barcelona could be willing to sell a large number of their current first team squad this summer amid a financial meltdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic, and the club’s huge wage bill.

This is according to The Sun, who claim that only Lionel Messi, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Frenkie de Jong are exempt from being let go.

This could well mean that they are willing to negotiate the sale of a number of their first team stars this summer, and Chelsea, who are looking improve their squad, could have a look at some of the players on offer.

So who might turn Frank Lampard’s eye?

Philippe Coutinho is the obvious one with the most Chelsea links so far.

But the Blues boss also wants a new striker, he could look at one of the options available…

29-year old Antoine Griezmann, or the ageing Luis Suarez could be available. Other than that, there is Martin Braithwaite.

Chelsea have also been linked with wingers, and I am sure they would love a chance to sign Ousmane Dembele, who is also on the list but wont be cheap.

What about full backs? Another area Chelsea will look to strengthen.

The experienced Jordi Alba is on the list, along with Junior Firpo and Nelson Semedo.

Or perhaps some highly experienced grit is needed. In that case you have Samuel Umtiti, Sergio Busquests, Arturo Vidal, or Ivan Rakitic potentially available.

And the rest?

Arthur Melo

Neto

Clement Lenglet

Sergi Roberto
