Chelsea set to make transfers while Tottenham and Arsenal struggle for spending

Chelsea fans have have had to be very patient in recent transfer windows.

The club had a couple of quiet ones, and then a couple of very quiet ones as they went through two without making a single signing.

Eden Hazard was then sold last summer, meaning that the club has actually been in profit over the last couple of years, transfer-wise.

But the Blues haven’t let their current main top 4 rivals Arsenal and Tottenham pull away in that period. And according to Matt Law of the Telegraph, this summer could be our chance to reel them back in again.

Not only are we ahead of the North London teams in the table, we’re also set to spend significantly more money than them this summer.

While they suffer from the coronavirus’ financial impacts, we’re sitting pretty and extremely liquid after a long break from the market.

Not only that, but with Willian and Pedro leaving, we will have freed up even more cash on the wage bill.

While those two battle over Willian, who have have allowed to go on a free, we have signed Hakim Ziyech already, and will likely look to strengthen further.

Law writes that those two will only be able to sign players on free transfers as it stands, while we’re happy to let players go in the same situation. If we spend our money wisely, this is a superb chance to establish a gap between us and our London rivals.
