Chelsea could play some remaining games at neutral grounds after Premier League U-turn

The Premier League’s “Project Restart” for resuming the playing of the English top flight has gone through various different stages, and is now coming full circle in at least one area.

The idea of playing the entire tournament behind closed doors in a kind of fixture frenzy at decontaminated neutral venues was suggested earlier in the cycle and was then discarded.

Now it’s back on the agenda in a different form with the Daily Mail writing that a setup for the remaining games to be played in a mixture of home, away and neutral venues.

All of this will be decided at a meeting on Thursday, which is seen as the “crunch” setting for the final decisions on how to go ahead with trying to play out this season as quickly and safely as possible.

Chelsea have to try and hold on to fourth place to ensure Champions League football next season, and they will be hoping that everything can be resumed as soon as possible to allow our next campaign to go as smoothly as it can.
