Chelsea have money to spend but Arsenal don’t – leaving the door open for Aubameyang switch

We are living in very uncertain financial times right now due to the pandemic, and expect that to be portrayed in football this season with clubs transfer business expected to be a lot less frequent.

What we will see is clubs more willing to sell players in what they call a potential buyers market. So those few clubs who might still be in a good financial situation, such as Chelsea for example, might be licking their lips at potential buys.

The Telegraph ran a report last night claiming that Arsenal will not be able to sign new players this summer, unless they sell.

One of those players they mention that could be sold is striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The report goes on to say that Chelsea still have money to spend regardless, but will also look to sell some unwanted players to raise funds even further.

Frank Lampard wants a new striker, Chelsea have been linked to Aubameyang, as per a number of outlets including The Sun back in April.

Chelsea have been watching that situation and could decide to make the move under the circumstances.
