The links between Samuel Chukwueze and Chelsea have been growing steadily in recent weeks, and AS in Spain today throw more fuel on the fire with an interesting profile of the Villareal man.
They themselves cite the interest being reported by English sources yesterday that the Nigeria international could be an alternative to Jadon Sancho as an attacking signing should the English talent prove too expensive, or end up at Manchester United.
Chukwueze would be far cheaper, with AS claiming that Villareal would accept €50m for him despite his €100m release clause.
They also add the interesting wrinkle that he is a boyhood Chelsea fan.
Whether that will make the difference isn’t clear yet – but what is clear is that Chelsea have a great alternative to Sancho on the cards. The Nigeria international is a tricky and unpredictable winger with an eye for goal and an assist, and he could bring a bit of dynamism to a Chelsea team looking for more creativity and speed in the final third.
