Alex Telles price cut by €10m as Porto seek sale

Chelsea have some well established transfer targets for this summer, and they were probably expecting to have to pay top dollar.

That’s especially true in the case of Alex Telles, given he’s a very well rounded and developed player at his peak, with experience in Europe and plenty of skill on the ball.

Porto would previously have been expecting his release clause of €40m to be met, but the financial presses of the coronavirus now mean they will accept just €30m, according to a report from Portugal translated by SportWitness.

That really would be a significant bargain, and would also be in line with what Ajax are asking for their left back, Nicolas Tagliafico.

Frank Lampard must now decide whether he wants to pay maybe double that for Ben Chilwell, or whether he will be content with one of the two more affordable, continentally based alternatives.

All that we can say for sure now is that left back is a priority for Chelsea, and one of these players is likely to be coming to Stamford Bridge this summer.

“I just want to be a big part of a club and give my all to them. That’s all that burns through me.” – Which 33-year- old is headed for the glue factory via Turkey, China or the MLS? Find out here.
