Willian and Pedro could have played their last game for Chelsea regardless if the season ends

We are fast approaching the month of June, the month where the majority of players who are in the last year of their contracts with their clubs become free agents.

Willian, Pedro, Olivier Giroud, and Willy Caballero all fall under that category at Chelsea, with only Giroud being talked about regarding having a new contract extension.

The other three look to be off when their deals are up.

However, with the COVID-19 pandemic, the season of course is yet to be completed, and is looking hugely unlikely to be done by June, leaving confusion over what will happen with out of contract players.

Well, it will be up to the individuals, according to The Telegraph.

Fifa guidelines recommend that transfer windows can be moved and player contracts extended. However, whilst the guidelines give football associations the ability to implement new rules surrounding contracts and transfers, they do not necessarily overrule employment law.

That means Willian, Giroud, Pedro and Caballero may still have the option of terminating their employment at Stamford Bridge at the end of June if they so wish.
