Tabloid names 5 potential transfers Chelsea could make to replace struggling Kepa

Kepa has had two seasons at Chelsea, and neither has gone to plan.

When you arrive as a deadline day, world record signing in your position, people are always going to get excited. Expectations couldn’t have been higher.

He started well too, and the way his passing and sweeping fitted into Maurizio Sarri’s team last year was clear.

But after the awful Carabao Cup final incident last February, and a season this time around that saw him get dropped by manager Frank Lampard, Chelsea have apparently had enough and are lining up a shortlist of players to replace the Basque stopper.

The Sun give a list of 5 names who could be on their way to Stamford Bridge this summer: Andre Onana, Manuel Neuer, Dean Henderson, Gigi Donnarumma and Nick Pope.

There’s a shred of logic at least to each, but some look less likely.

Henderson is on loan from Man U and is likely to want to have a crack at his boyhood team’s senior side. Neuer still looks odds on to renew his contract at Bayern.

Onana and Donnarumma are class young keepers with European experience, but will likely command big fees and big wages.

That leaves Pope standing alone without a mark against him, and after another good season with Burnley this might be the time to swoop, especially if the Clarets are looking for cash after the football hiatus that’s going on right now.
