Mason Mount finally made his Chelsea breakthrough this season, playing regularly for Frank Lampard in a second consecutive season after being a key man for him at Derby too.
Mount now looks to be an integral part of Chelsea’s team for years to come, and he was today asked about another new addition – Hakim Ziyech.
In quotes picked up by the Evening Standard, our academy product revealed how excited he was by the promising incoming signing from Ajax:
“Two years ago I was in Holland on loan so I knew a bit about him then and obviously how good of a player he is,” Mount said when asked about the creative winger.
“It’s another amazing, world-class player joining the club. So yeah buzzing to work with him, train with him and hopefully play with him,” the midfielder continued.
We can’t wait to see them in the same side. Mount’s running and intelligence will fit perfectly with the technique and class of Ziyech, and hopefully his eye for goal will combine with Mount’s to produce serious results for this team in the years to come.
The only question right now is how long we have to wait to see them back on the field right now.
