Danny Drinkwater hasn’t done much on the pitch to impress Chelsea fans since arriving in that ill fated summer of 2017, but his activities off the field have attracted a fair amount of attention.
They’re generally been Extremely Bad: car crashes, heavy drinking, fights with teammates. But for once he’s made the news for something good today.
The midfield gave himself a severe trim (or in fact two in one day) to raise some money for the coronavirus relief efforts. Then again, he could have kept his hair and donated a week’s wages… but it’s unfair to criticise anyone who’s doing things for charity, even if they are Danny Drinkwater.
