Chelsea have had some pretty great players over the years, and some pretty scary ones for opposition players to come up against.
But few have put fear into their opponents’ hearts like Eden Hazard. His ability to make you look foolish was almost unparalleled by other players during his time in the Premier League, and the quotes from Leicester defender Christian Fuchs today on Goal.com rather confirm that:
“The best opponent that I have faced in the Premier League so far was probably Eden Hazard. He was very good.”
Fuchs went up against Eden in many 1 on 1 battles down the years, and he will have been relieved to see the back of him when he moved to Real Madrid last summer. Never the fastest, we remember one game against Leicester where Fuchs was actually subbed off as Belgian trickster Hazard targeted him again and again.
Now he’s gone though, it’s time for a new player to step up and take his place. Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic have the dribbling skills, they just need the killer instinct to become as scary as Hazard once was.
