Chelsea and Manchester United ‘front-runners’ to sign Ligue 1 striker

Chelsea prioritised signing a new striker back in January, and it looks like after failing with that, they will be on the case again in the summer.

The transfer window could be delayed, depending on decisions from the big bosses. However, Chelsea will be looking to sign a new striker once again, after manager Frank Lampard did not get his request in the winter.

The player that they attempted to sign was Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, with the Ligue 1 side rejecting The Blues advances.

Lyon are now ‘braced for offers’ for their star striker again when the window reopens, and it is Chelsea who lead the race to sign him once again, alongside Manchetser United, according to The Sun.

The former Celtic and Fulham striker has become hot property, after scoring 16 goals in 27 appearances in the French league, and he is a player who has been on Chelsea’s radar for a number of years now.
