Speaking about the Chelsea captain during those titantic battles, Carragher said that JT was “a lot better than he was given credit for,” in quotes picked up by Goal.com.
“People always talk about John Terry being this man who put his head and his body in front of everything – and he would – and we talk about Rio Ferdinand being the player who was great on the ball. But we forget that Rio was a great defender and that John Terry was great on the ball. ”
He’s bang on. JT’s character and bravery always took the headlines, wheras his two footed passing and calmness in possession were rarely mentioned. Hearing it straight from the mouth of one of his contemporaries and teammates is all the proof you need that our captain, leader, legend was a cut above the rest.
