How Callum Hudson-Odoi is trying to stay fit for football’s return

Callum Hudson-Odoi has been out injured since January, and with football on pause there’s been no chance for him to get fit.

The winger had quotes on Football.London explaining what he was going to try and keep in shape ahead of a return to action:

“Recently I’ve been working 10-10:30 and then going straight downstairs to do a bit of bike, 10 seconds pushing myself really hard and maybe 10 seconds resting and then another 10 seconds again,” the 19 year old explained.

He also admitted to preferring evening runs, pounding the empty streets Rocky style:

“For me, I like late-night runs. I don’t know why I like the late-night ones. It’s just everywhere is quiet and you go and do your thing and come back home,” he explained.

It will be very interesting to see how this long break affects Hudson-Odoi. On the one hand, he was out injured when the season was called off, and this has given him a great chance to get fit for the last run of games.

On the other hand, he’s now been months without matches, just a year on from his last bad injury. He’s missed a lot of the last 12 months now, and this latest break is only going to make finding proper match speed again difficult.
