“Well played” – World Cup winner still loving his wonderkid protege

There was a video from the academy last season which showed Billy Gilmour watching Cesc Fabregas videos in training, and it’s lead to a kind of connection between the two.

Cesc is always asked on Twitter about how he thinks Gilmour is getting on, and he’s always full of praise for the kid. Today was no different after a superb 45 minutes from the youngster

He doesn’t even need to say who he’s talking about.

Gilmour was put into the team thanks to the injuries through the squad, but after a brilliant game against Liverpool on Tuesday and now another impressive 45 minutes today, it’s hard to see how Frank Lampard can drop him.

As Fabregas says, it’s been a great half for Chelsea in large part thanks to the work of one man in midfield, and if you don’t want to change a winning formula then you definitely don’t want to drop him.
