The midfielder has toiled and largely failed to impress, but as an Evertonian he had the bit between his teeth against Liverpool today. He’s just made a superb surging run from midfield and launched a rocket back across the face of goal to double our advantage.

That’s just the inspiration we needed, the atmosphere at home is buzzing, and we just need to see this one out professionally now to make it through to the next round.
