It’s a sad strange time on Earth right now, which is why it’s nice to look back ten years ago to when Chelsea fans were really smiling.
On this day in 2007, Frank Lampard was bursting through Aston Villa time and again to net 4 in a 7-1 demolition of the Villains. Carlo Ancelotti was on the touchline and we were storming to perhaps our most stylish trophy win ever.
This really was a team – Florent Malouda and Joe Cole make some pretty classic contributions – along with the rest of what was truly a superstar lineup.
