Turkish giants join queue for Chelsea striker

There is new interest in Chelsea’s out of contract striker Olivier Giroud, according to sources in Turkey.

SportWitness have the full report, with claims from Istanbul saying that Fenerbahce are interested in the veteran to take up a starring role in their competitive team

He’s struggled for minutes at Chelsea, and may want to move to a league oa slightly lower standard, where he can keep his place in the France team by playing and scoring regularly.

The Yellow Canaries are interested in picking up his contract, which expires in the summer. The Blues will be desperate to keep hold of him through the rest of the league season if it’s extended through the summer, but after that will have to release him.

Several Italian clubs including Inter Milan have expressed interest in the Frenchman, and he looks set to have his fair share of options come June. The 33 year old ended up with just 13 appearances under Frank Lampard, but was in the team and playing well when matches were called off. It’s easy to understand why teams see the upside.
