Yesterday was former Chelsea midfielder Ramires’ birthday, which lead to a slew of tributes for him across social media.
With no football being played at the moment, the focus is all on great matches of the past, and as a key player in one of Chelsea’s most famous ever wins, there’s plenty of those for Ramires.
Mixed in among the Nou Camp 2012 tributes though are a ton of more general comments about him as a player and a person. Everyone loved themselves a bit of Ramires! He endeared himself straight away with his work rate and also chipped in with some superb goals down the years. Quite apart from the one in Barcelona, there’s the assist for Didier Drogba in the previous round.
Lots of people are calling him “underrated” – but is that true? We all rated him. Every team could do with a Ramires in their ranks, that’s for sure.
