Predicted XI: Chelsea down to barest bones for Liverpool game

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has just given his press conference ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup game against Liverpool, giving us a very good idea of how the team will line up.

There are so many injuries there aren’t even that many decisions to make. The big one is whether to persist with 3 at the back, and assuming he does, this is how we think we will line up.

Kepa gets a chance to impress back in goal. At right-wing back Reece James’ extended run goes on. Marcos Alonso surely starts on the left again after more goals at the weekend.

In the back 3, Andreas Christensen sounds like a doubt, so Antonio Rudiger may step in to play with Fikayo Tomori and Cesar Azpilicueta.

The midfield has to be Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic – there just aren’t any other options really.

If Olivier Giroud can handle the flurry of games he will play up front again, with Willian probably coming in for a rested Mason Mount, and Pedro possibly getting a start on the other side.
