Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has received easily one of the greatest ever compliments of his career.
One of the worlds greatest ever football players Lionel Messi has probably just made the 21-year old England internationals year.
As reported by The Daily Mail, the Argentina international has picked Mount in his ‘youth on the rise’ category for Topps in his exclusive pack of football cards.
Messi for me is the greatest player of all time, and just pips Cristiano Ronaldo, but I know this can be an intense debate.
Regardless, for Messi to select Mount off the back of watching him play, really says all you need to know about the talent that Mount has possessed, despite being oddly and harshly criticised by a small selection of his clubs own fans online recently.
But as The Mail report, Messi said on Mount:
“Having watched him play he has the potential to be one of the best.”
