The one less obvious thing Kepa did vs Liverpool that Lampard would’ve been delighted with

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga returned to the starting Chelsea line up last night against Liverpool after some time on the substitutes bench.

Frank Lampard opted to use veteran backup goalkeeper Willy Caballero over Kepa after concerns over his form and ability so far this season.

One of those concerns that Lampard has is Kepa’s lack of dominance in coming for crosses and commanding his box, Chelsea-News understands.

So Lampard would have been delighted to see Kepa coming for a few crosses last night, even if he was only punching them, it was enough to divert the danger and cancel out an attack.

Not only did he make some fine saves and put on one of his best overall displays in a Chelsea shirt, his aerial dominance would have been duly noted by Lampard and will give him a little more assurance on his ability.

How he performs now in the run in to the end of the season will probably go a long way in Lampard deciding his fate this summer.
