Chelsea have been creating and nurturing very talented football players in one of the greatest youth academies in world football.
The club are very proud of their academy setup, and they have also managed to scout and bring in some quality young players such as Ethan Ampadu and Billy Gilmour over recent years.
The pair joined The Blues academy and have been coached in the youth ranks before both being given chances in the first team.
Gilmour has burst onto the scene this season, and before the dreaded virus ended play, he was putting in some excellent performances for the first team under Frank Lampard.
So it is fully deserved that the 18-year old has made Goal‘s NxGn 2020: The 50 best wonder kids list.
He is the only Chelsea representative in the list and he is named at number 33. Real Madrid’s Rodrygo gets the number 1 place.
The list consists of players who were born on or after January 1, 2001 and is conducted by Goal’s wide array of Journalists.
