Marcos Alonso nominated for Premier League Player of the Month

Marcos Alonso, has been nominated for February’s player of the month award.

We’re not surprised – God knows where we would be without him. He banged in three goals in two Premier League games to win us vital points, and he was by some distance one of the most influential players in the division this past February.

Having not started a game since December, the 29 year old blasted in the second goal against Tottenham to give us a win.

Then, last weekend he scored BOTH our goals at Bournemouth as we drew 2-2. It’s hard to argue with that record for a defender – effectively four points won in two games single-handedly.

There are some top names named alongside him though, from Bruno Fernandes and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Matt Doherty of Wolves.

Whether or not he wins, this was a huge month for Marcos, and if he does leave this summer, he’s signed off in style.

You can vote for him at the awards page here.
