Lampard to go ‘head-to-head’ with Mourinho to sign new Goalkeeper

Chelsea look set to have a transfer battle with Tottenham when the transfer window opens.

As per The Express, both Jose Mourinho and Frank Lampard are keen on signing Burnley Goalkeeper Nick Pope, and will make their moves when the transfer window opens.

The England international stopper has been linked with Chelsea a few times in recent weeks in one of those stories that doesn’t seem to die down.

Lampard wants to sign a new keeper, that seems more than apparent. But what isn’t as clear is whether he is looking to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga, or just provide him with some better competition.

Seeing as though Kepa is the clubs record signing, I believe that the latter option looks more realistic as it stands, so Pope may well fit that criteria.

Kepa meanwhile, will be hoping football returns as soon as possible, he was off the back of a few very good performances before it all came to a pause.
