Kepa seems set to return for Liverpool game after spell in the wilderness

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa has been out of the team for 6 games now, with Willy’s run starting back in the previous round of the FA Cup against Nottingham Forest.

This historic cup competition that gave Willy the chance to switch in now looks set to give Kepa a chance to shine. Speaking in his pre-match press conference today, Lampard wasn’t giving too much away, but his words certainly hinted to us that the Spaniard may be back.

Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com had quotes from the gaffer on the subject of who would be between the sticks:

The logic is that it would be hard for Kepa to be “in control” too much if he’s not given at least one more run out. This also gives Lampard the chance for an easy out from playing Willy for the rest of the season, should Kepa shine.

We’re all praying that’s the case. Caballero hasn’t been awful, but an in-form Kepa is a level above without doubt.
