Frank Lampard confirms one injury setback, but two first team players close to full fitness

Frank Lampard has just had his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s game with Everton this weekend, and the gaffer had some important injury updates to relay.

The bad news was that it was confirmed that Callum Hudson-Odoi has had a further setback in terms of recovering from his hamstring injury. Liam Twomey of the Athletic was there to record the news:

On the other hand, the good news is that both Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek played a friendly today at Cobham behind closed doors. That probably rules them out for this weekend, but means that next week they are surely in prime position to play.

There are so many injuries in the squad right now it’s hard to keep up. Pulisic’s return will be especially valuable now we know that CHO is out for a while longer, while in central midfield we’re so depleted that RLC’s return will be massive too.
