Former Chelsea player admits “rivalry” with Lampard

Chelsea have had some great players through the years, and our peak was in the early days of Roman Abramovich and Jose Mourinho.

Back then we had brilliant players sitting on the bench and even not making the squad sometimes.

One of those big signings who ended up barely featuring was Jiri Jarosik, who played just 20 times in 18 months in West London. The main reason for that was the man competing for game time with him – Frank Lampard. He was so injury resistant and so consistent in his play that he barely ever missed a game.

Goal.com have quotes from Jarosik where he admits that he felt a rivarly with the now Chelsea boss:

“We played in the same position so we were rivals and I think he began the big part of his career in the moments around the time that I came to Chelsea,” Jarosik explained.

“He was in a great moment with him and John Terry growing up as players,” he went on.

Jarosik was always on good terms personally with Frank though, and he’s now a huge fan of the work the manager is doing bringing through all these youngsters.

It’s great to see old rivals become friends again!
