Billy Gilmour was the talk of the town after a super showing against Liverpool in the FA Cup, and as always Cesc Fabregas was asked for his takes on Twitter.
He responded with glowing praise of the 18 year old, saying he was “fantastic” and had “personality… intelligence… aggression” in a highly positive assessment of his performance.

We all know the pair have a great bond, and Cesc sees himself as a kind of mentor for young Billy. There was a famous clip back in the day of the youngster watching clips of Fabregas in a training session.
It’s great he’s keeping an eye on him still. They look to be having similar career trajectories, and Billy can learn so much from someone who won everything in the game.
We hope he tunes in this Sunday too, when Billy might get a Premier League start.
