Young Billy Gilmour took a lot of the praise yesterday after Chelsea beat Liverpool, but there were other big lineup decisions from Frank Lampard leading up to the game, and other players having potentially decisive games.
None of them had a more significant chance to affect their future than Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Spain goalkeeper had been definitively dropped by Frank Lampard after the last round of this competition, and while we don’t know whether he will be restored to the team this weekend, he couldn’t have done much better in terms of pushing for that.
He made one triple- save in particular that really caught the attention and kept Chelsea ahead in the game, and afterwards he posted this social media post which seemed to reference his recent bad times, and indicate that he’s not going to get carried away either way:

Personally, we think he should now be restored to the first team for this Sunday’s game and given the chance to impress once again.
