Chelsea’s failed midfield investment “dreaming” of move away

Tiemoue Bakayoko had a very bad experience at Chelsea, and it’s perhaps no surprise he’s keen not to come back.

There’s unlikely to be room for him in Frank Lampard’s team in the foreseeable future, or much demand from the fans for him to return to Stamford Bridge, so perhaps that’s for the best.

It’s such a shame the signing didn’t work out. We had just won the league with Antonio Conte and Bakayoko had broken through in the Champions League with Monaco. It would have been so good to upgrade our midfield then and push on. Instead we got Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater.

Now, after a couple of seasons on loan, Baka is “dreaming” of leaving Chelsea, according to quotes in the Daily Star. That’s understandable, and we’re sure the club will be able to organise a swift exit once the transfer window reopens.

It’s just one of those moves that hasn’t worked out – let’s hope we can get a decent fee and move on.
