Chelsea target speaks out on summer exit rumours

The summer is fast approaching and Chelsea will surely be making plans to bring in some of Frank Lampard’s targets.

The Chelsea boss knows he needs to add more quality players to his squad if he is to challenge for the Premier League title again, and also be more of a force in the Champions League after last weeks thrashing by Bayern Munich.

It was reported earlier this week that The Blues had an interest in signing Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.

This had Chelsea fans excited about the potential acquisition of a quality highly rated player. The French under-21 international is going to be a sought-after talent and he could well leave Ligue 1 in the summer.

It had gone quiet in the last day or so and is yet to transpire whether Chelsea will be making their move for the 21-year old.

But he did have an opportunity to squash rumours of an exit, and he remained very coy with his answers.

In a tactful interview, as reported by Goal, Aouar certainly didn’t rule anything out.

He said:

“I’m not thinking about by future. I’d rather think about the weeks to come. They will be important for Lyon and for us.

“I still have a lot to bring to the team and I’m trying not to pollute my mind by staying focused on what happens on the park.”
