Chelsea open Stamford Bridge hotel to health workers during coronavirus crisis

Chelsea are a club who don’t have an amazing reputation when it comes to PR, especially further back in our history.

But under Roman Abramovich real efforts have been made to improve our image, from our dedication to the London living wage to our charitable donations and drive against anti-Semitism.

That drive has continued today with the superb news that the club will be opening up the Millenium Hotel at Stamford Bridge for NHS staff for the next two months.

We’re about to enter an extremely testing time for the health services in this country, and with no football on the horizon for even longer, this is a very smart and potentially life-saving move from the club.

According to Chelsea, the initiative is the brainchild of owner Roman Abramovich, who decided in conjunction with Bruce Buck that this is the best way the club can help out during the crisis.
