Chelsea’s squad is being stretched to the limit right now, and injuries are seriously affecting the team from back from front.
An FA Cup game might normally be a good chance to rest some players and play others, but right now every player available is playing regularly already, and there’s really no room for rotation at all.
In his press conference today, Frank Lampard confirmed that Tammy Abraham, Christian Pulisic, N’Golo Kante and Callum Hudson-Odoi were all still absent, and he also added Andreas Christensen to the list of walking wounded, as you can see in this quote from Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com:
Lampard on team news: "Christensen has a small issue. We will give him another 24 hours but he is probably out."
No Abraham, Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi or Kante for Liverpool. No one is back who was injured. Loftus-Cheek is playing with the U23s tonight. #CFC

That will mean Olivier Giroud up front again, Fikayo Tomori and probably Antonio Rudiger at the back. In midfield Jorginho will surely play before his long break thanks to suspensions in two competitions.
At least the new addition to the injury list is a central defender – the one position where we still have a spare set of legs in the form of Kurt Zouma.
