Carlo Ancelotti’s dream XI includes two Chelsea legends

Football is on pause, so all we can really do is look back on games and players we’ve enjoyed in the past. It’s enough to pass the time, for now.

Managers have been wheeling out the fantasy XIs of players they’ve managed, and Carlo Ancelotti, of course, has a pretty prime one.

He’s managed many great teams and many great players, but two Blues still make it to his final selection. John Terry and Frank Lampard are competing with some of the best players of a generation, and still start for Carlo.

Football Italia have the full team on their page, and it’s pretty impressive:

Buffon; Cafu, Thiago Silva, Terry, Maldini; Zidane, Pirlo, Lampard; Kaka; Ibrahimovic, Shevchenko.

Now we don’t count Shevchenko because he didn’t line up with Carlo at Chelsea, but he’s still technically a former Blue. The other two are of course in for their amazing efforts when the Italian boss was in charge.

Ashley Cole must feel hard done by – but nobody can be too annoyed by Paolo Maldini taking their place.
