Billy Gilmour set for deserved Scotland senior call-up for Euro 2020 playoffs

Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour’s performances in Chelsea’s youth teams over the last few years and his break through into the senior squad is set to be deservedly rewarded on the international stage.

18-year old Gilmour has made 11 appearances for the Scotland under-21 side, but now The Daily Mail claim he could be about to be called up into the senior team for the first time.

They say he is in contention for a call-up to the squad to play Isreal in the Euro 2020 playoff match later this month.

The youngster is expected to start for Chelsea again in the Premier League this afternoon after an impressive showing against Liverpool last week.

He plays with a real maturity and will not be phased in the slightest about representing his country in a major game.

He is likely to get a run of games for Chelsea now as well in the lead up as Frank Lampard’s side have been hit with injuries and the suspension of Jorginho.
