Willian passes British citizenship test but his future is still up in the air

Willian has passed a British citizenship test, at the third attempt, and can now become a citizen of his adopted country.

The Daily Mail had quotes from the Brazilian born winger where he celebrated the event, and spoke of his desire to stay in London.

While he may be keen to stay put, and Arsenal and Tottenham always possibilities, with less than 6 months left on his deal it’s looking less and less likely that that future will be at Chelsea.

The next few months will prove very interesting, as Willian plays a starting role in Frank Lampard’s team as they look to hang on to fourth place.

They only need to find a little form to make it, and if anyone’s going to add a bit of magic, it would be him. His form hasn’t been great recently, but earlier this season he played some excellent games.

Could he yet earn that new contract with a flurry of goals?
