Chelsea fans hadn’t even had time to reflect and suffer from the thrashing handed to them by Bayern Munich last night before Willian started talking about his own situation.
The Chelsea winger was questioned after the game on his expiring contract this summer, and instead of saying no comment, he decided to reveal that he is demanding a 3-year extension from Chelsea, who are only offering a 2-year, and that the two parties are unlikely to meet in the middle.
Remarkable timing from one of Chelsea’s experienced players. But it looks like he could well be off in the summer and his mind is probably even elsewhere already.
The Telegraph reporter Matt Law believes that Willian is lucky to be offered any extension at all from Chelsea, pointing out the fact that he has only chirped up with 5 goals and 5 assists this season in his latest article.
