Chelsea ended up not signing anyone after a January window which saw them linked with every striker under the sun, leaving a fanbase that was surprised and somewhat disappointed.
Speaking on the Athletic podcast, Liam Twomey explained that “the most realistic option Chelsea had” was Salomon Rondon, formerly of Newcastle and West Brom, now playing in China.
That does make the decision to not sign anyone make a little more sense.
