Chelsea have made their first signing of this summer, agreeing a deal for Hakim Ziyech of Ajax to arrive this summer.
We’re only paying €45m, and the pundits on Sky Sports’ “The Debate” said the price was so low that it was amazing other teams weren’t in for the Morocco international.
“I’m surprised that there haven’t been other clubs that have gone ‘you know what, for £37m… [we should buy him].”
That’s the stage football has reached now – paying €45m for a player who will be 27 when he arrives is considered cheap. But that’s the market, and we’re just happy on the right side of the deal.
